Do cell phone companies make phones that use a universal battery?

I recently purchased a nice Motorrizr which i returned because it is 2 years old, and I dont want to be told that that particular battery is no longer made and you have to buy a new phone. You would think that they would make one battery that fits alot of phones so there is always a fresh supply of newly made batteries for those phones. It probably is a marketing strategy. There is no such thing as a standardized battery for cell phones.

Each model has a different form factor and each ahs different power requirements.

You should be able to get a sweet deal on a new phone every two years without having it affect your bank balance too much.

I would check out places like http://www.goingcellular.com or http://www.prepaidrevieews.com or http://www.phonescoop.com to get up to speed on what is out there on the market as far as current technology is concerned.

Realistically, this type of technology is growing at a rapid pace and you will start to see that “2 year” window shrink to 6 months or less.

Get with the times and get a new phone — the days of keeping your cell phone for 6 years are over. LOL
