how do I get swr lower than 3:1 on a 102″ whip base mnt?
I have a 102″ whip mounted on a pole with a ground wire. When you talk and set the swr calibration, the swr is 3:1. How can I get it lower? This is an antenna hooked up to a cb radio.
Wrong category but is this a base or mobile installation? Try mounting the antenna higher. Use better coax. Most people use the cheap RG-58U coax. Try using RG-8. Maybe find a better way to ground the antenna.
