Can you run your cable TV coax into the antenna FM coax on a home theater system A/V receiver?

I’m shopping for a home theater A/V receiver. Currently my plasma screen is just a monitor so switching channels can’t be done thru the monitor. I’m using a dvd-r/w unit to change channels because it has a switcher inside that can change channels (much like the old VCR channel switcher when you wanted to record a tv show). I’ve noticed on the receiver that I’m considering buying that it as a FM coax input. Could I run my cable tv coax into this input and switch my channels through the receiver there using the receiver remote? Another detail: I don’t have digital cable (therefore no cable tuning box) only analogue cable.

The Short answer is No.

The Receiver FM Coax input is for radio antenna.
Receivers do not come with TV Tuners.

Cable TV Coax connector has to be connected to a TV tuner.
Most of the VCR’s come with TV tuner. You can buy a TV tuner seperately as well.
